WHEREAS, The 44th annual meeting of the American Society of Mammalogists, held at Ciudad Universitaria, Mexico City, D.F., 14-18 June 1964, has been a most enlightening and pleasurable occasion; and
WHEREAS, The success of the meeting has been greatly enhanced by the cultural atmosphere and physical facilities of the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico, as manifest through the kind offices of the Faculdad de Ciencias and particularly through the individual attentions of Dr. Ignacio Gonzalez Guzman, Coordinador de Ciencias de la Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico and Dr. Guillermo Torres, Director of the Faculdad de Ciencias; and
WHEREAS, certain arrangements contributing to the excellent conduct of the meeting have been made possible through the magnanimous material aid of Senor Jose del C. Espinosa, of Punta Penasco, Sonora; and
WHEREAS, A diligent and devoted local committee of scientists and citizens, chaired by Dr. Bernardo Villa-R., head of the Seccion de Mastozoologia del Instituto de Biologia, has through unstinted attention to all details of the meeting, contrived a most happy blend of culture, efficiency and hospitality throughout the entire season;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the American Society of Mammalogists extends to all these organizations and individuals its heartfelt thanks and most sincere appreciation for the hospitality, courtesies and assistance which have made this a memorable meeting to be recorded in the annals of the Society and treasured in the recollections of its delegates as an enduring symbol of the great friendship of our dear colleagues in Mexico.
