WHEREAS, we who have attended the meetings of the American Society of Mammalogists at the University of Georgia have been soothed by the songs of mockingbirds, by the smell of magnolia blossoms, and by the pervading green of the lush vegetation; and
WHEREAS, we have been treated with exemplary southern hospitality; and
WHEREAS, through their organization and careful attention to detail, the Local Committee has provided us with subarctic room accommodations and local transportation; and
WHEREAS, the excellent program has been the result of the perceptive selection and scheduling of papers; and
WHEREAS, the provision for evening socializing and refreshment has furthered the cause of fellowship and the exchange of ideas among mammalogists;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the American Society of Mammalogists extends its sincere thanks to the Local Committee, the Savannah River Ecology Laboratory, and the University of Georgia for a profitable and memorable series of meetings.
